Dr. Dukes is no stranger to Augusta University. Having previously served as the director of student engagement, her journey officially began at this institution as an admissions counselor. With over 15 years of diverse experience in education and a profound passion for student affairs, Dukes is the perfect fit for this new role. She has climbed the ranks through pivotal positions such as graduation coach and intervention specialist, proving her dedication to enhancing the student experience.

Dr. Dukes is known for her impressive track record of creating student-centered spaces and organizing events that bring people together. She will oversee various areas, including Fraternity and Sorority Life, Civic Engagement, Student Leadership, Student Organizations, and the all-important Jaguar Student Activities Center. By doing so, she aims to cultivate a vibrant culture where students actively participate as advocates, creators, and leaders of their own Jag experience.

A Vision Backed by Strong Leadership

The new assistant vice president position has been made possible through President Russell T. Keen’s Build the Bench initiative. This initiative aims to strengthen the university’s internal infrastructure by investing in its staff while also bolstering student life opportunities. Part of this initiative includes funding for two additional positions, which will help form an Office of Student Organizations and Leadership to further enhance student experiences.
